NME AWARDS

When looking at the NME Awards in terms of fashion, it can be divided into two ways: those who actually dress and make a bit of an effort and those who just shove on the first thing they find. Because, unlike most other award ceremonies, the one that takes place at the end of February in the Brixton Academy is not about looking glamorous and well-dressed. It's about the music.

A controversial ceremony held by a controversial magazine. However, what's uplifting about it is that that nearly all the winners are chosen by the public and it is a gathering of all the coolest people around at the moment.

But what did they wear? I hear you ask. Well here is a variety of pictures from some of those on the guest-list:

It is guaranteed that the women will look the most presentable, combining glam with rock.

Juliette Lewis let out sparkles of laid back cool with her glistening skinnies and casual denim shirt,
Alexa Chung wore a bit of Christopher Kane to bring out the star in herself and Jameela Jamil shone in up-and-coming designer Aminaka Wilmont. Also shown above is Marina Diamandis accompanied with neon lipstick and accessories and Alison Mosshart, wrapped up warm in a bird-like, feathered coat.
As for the guys, it was a bit diverse.
My Chemical Romance opted for matching suits, alongside Miles Kane. And Patrick Wolfe was dressed in a smart red number.

But if it wasn't a Sunday-doing-nothing-in-the-house-look of hoodie and jeans (I'm talking about you Dan Haggis of The Wombats) then it was the typical boy band appearance. Stylish but we have seen it before..

London Fashion Week A/W:: Christopher Kane

This time it's a return for those riveting, psychedelic patterns Christopher is known for. The acid overdose from the spring/ summer collection has been cleaned up and greys and blacks have taking over. But don't be discouraged because the designs are anything but dull.
Spirals made up of tiny patterned squares rave for attention and sudden bursts of bright blue, situated upon the blacks and dark brown, hypnotise anyone who's eyes lay upon it.
There is a selection of formal dresses with the occasional wave of dominant colour and, perhaps unexpectedly, the last of the collection is a sparkling gleam of sheer dresses. Beautiful and sleek.

London Fashion Week A/W 11:: Burberry Prorsum

Christopher Bailey's take on this collection is much different to that of the spring/summer. This time it is all about military styled jackets in bright, bold colours, followed by checkered jackets with the same distinctive duffel-like buttons making a noticeable recurrence. The show trails on to showcase a range of more sophisticated outfits in colours such as brown, cream and black and to really welcome the winter, there is a selection of snowman inspired coats that when paired with black trousers and accessories pull off a trendy, formal look.

Inspiration & Event- Will you be mine, valentine?

These series will pop up every now and then whenever there’s an important occasion and we all know that there’s no harm in making a fashionable entrance and statement! Here, I’ll be focusing on different creative ways to interpret personality and style all in one outfit!
With only this weekend to spare, Valentine’s Day is only just around the corner and regardless of whenever you’ll be spending it with that special one or with friends, there’s no excuse not to update or stylise your wardrobe!
True Romance

Valentines = Red. It’s a fact. Red hearts, red roses, red boxes of chocolates…and a stunning red dress! Channel a true romantic’s outfit by featuring a delicately draped/ruched/draped strapless shiny red dress and pair it up with these heeled black sandals! Every girl wants to stand out during the evening so this statement necklace does the job and finish it all off with this beautiful floral ring!
Rockstar and Chic

Stay stylish and stay chic with the classic LBD! Whenever it’s a friend outing or a date, this dress is perfect for anyone, for any occasion! This body-flattering dress will go finely with these edgey detailed heeled and to add a little bit of shine, the bracelet does the trick!
Boho Babe

Although it’s still probably a long way to go, the warm seasons are to be arriving soon! And what better way to incorporate the summer vibe through boho-inspired clothing? Play with the colours and rather than going for the typical red, aim for a feminine purple! This skirt is perfect for the job and, to stay on the trendy side, wear it with this one shouldered drape top! Add some glimmer through accessories and add some height through these dark midnight purple heels!

Future, Here We Come...

The Futuristic theme was a hit in the previous years and there’s no reason why it isn’t now! Create a futuristic look by using this well-detailed drape silver-ish top! The excessive detail, yet so simple, would look great with a shimmering T-bar necklace. The future is all about trying out new trends so rather than opting for the daily jeans or tights, go for these harems! All a girl needs is some height, through these platform heels, and to stay warm with a printed scarf! Add a little bit of your own personal touch with multiple rings!

A tint of nautical, clashed with Spring

Maybe it’s’ the winter blues but boy, am I craving for the gentle warm breezes to come by? Maybe the weather doesn’t keep up to date but that’s no reason why your wardrobe shouldn’t! Play against time and invest in these playful dotted shorts and wear it with this perfect draped while embellished top! Don’t be too reckless and fall ill so add a touch of a cosy cardigan! Heeled gladiators are going to be big this year and these shoes will flatter anyone! And again, jewellery is a girl’s best friend!

Spring Love is what I'd call it

Oh la la, picture it. Vibrant green grass swaying side to side, perfect azure skies, the gentle sun against your back and the lovely fresh open air. That’s probably going to end up making me sob in the corner, wishing for the sun to come out…but ho-hum, we can’t always win! So why not resemble the sun in this bright yellow skirt? Why not portray the soft clouds through these beaded bracelets? And finally, why not add a touch of femininity through this cami top, cosy cardigan and Mary-Jane shoes!?

Classy yet so crazy

Links: Watch, Shoes, Skirt, Jumper, Top
Let’s be a little more realistic. It’ll be cold for a while but it’s a no-no to harming our creativity skills! Let’s hone your talent and layer! A patterned blouse with a soft jumper looks incredible well put-together, chic, stylish and preppy! Pair it with these matching shoes and a fabulous frilly skit and finally, honour the eye-watching watches- as a substitute to the bracelets!

Tryin' the tribal trend

Links: Top, Skirt, Shoes, Necklace, Cardigan
The tribal trend will only just get hotter and hotter, regardless of the weather! Incorporate the earthy tones to your wardrobe through a plain khaki coloured top and match it with this exotic striped skirt! These shoes will only make you stand out from thr crowd so why not tone it all down with a neutral tribal cardigan?

I'd fancy a proper cuppa tea

Links: Socks, Dress, Shoes, Bag, Hat
Red’s definitely a colour that stands out amongst the rest so channel a English-inspired look through the trendy peter pan collar dress! Call it Alexa-Chung-Inspired or whatnot, but I could totally see her in this! Add some knee-high socks and pair it with these timeless brogues! Throw on this cute floppy hat and walk out with this amazing side bag! What’s there not to love about it?

Vintage is a girl's best friend

Links: Trousers, Top, Scarf, Bracelet, Shoes
Vintage isn’t just frilly blouses or beige coloured dresses. The vintage runs through classic timeless trousers that are completely versatile! Pair it with a matching floral tank top and again, hail the heights- with a floral touch! Add the summery vibe through adding a gold statement bracelet and a light floral scarf!

A trip to the countryside is all I'd ever ask for
Links: Top, Skirt, Belt, Shoes, Necklace
Perhaps I’ve saved the best to last- in my opinion, that is! It’s not a style that’s been touched on recently so reinventing new ideas is a perfect way to use staples within your wardrobe! A floral top is a must have for any girl and this ditsy patterned one particularly caught my eye! I’ve been flicking through countryside-inspired look and Mango have featured looks in this category, by pairing it with a midi length white skirt and finishing it off with a belt for the waistline! This necklace flatters the neckline of the top and these shoes scream out “spring!”

SS11:: Kate Moss for Longchamp

The following pictures are of Kate Moss posing with her new designs for her Longchamp bag range.
This season sees a selection of stripe, woven shopping bags and plaited strap satchels, along side her signature leather buckle.

Moss is also accompanying a summer seventies look with heavy fringe, kaftans and wide- legged trousers.
Her beauty never fades.
