It's a big world:: Maxi's go sheer?

Although I wasn't ever really too keen on the whole maxi fashion, i ended up blinking ridiculously after seeing this trend? The sheer touch made its way through the fashion route, that too with a heck lot of popularity <3 and now it goes onto maxi dresses and skirts!

The model-off duty look by Abbey Lee above, managed to really pull of the dress (well dur, shes a model afterall?) and the sheer touch gives a edgy touch to the whole outfit! Personally, i really loved is the flowy-ness of the skirt- it sorta looks rather classy, sophisticated, yet god damn simple?! Boy, I really am in love with the trend :')

Although i haven't hit the shops as of yet, i started surfing the internet trying to find some sort of sheer touch to a maxi but the trend hasn't made its way around...but it will- but only for the time being- which is a bummer :|

What some have said about this trend, is that it's going to be here and then gone, before you know it :) and i'd partially agree! It'll have its spotlight but something is going to steal its attention-- but that's how fashion rolls <3

I'll be my own model off duty.

First things first- HOW CUTE ARE THESE SHOES?! Moving on...

This romantic lace maxi dress is a perfect alternative to Abbey Lee's maxi skirt- probably even better since the lace pattern to the sheer is a bonus! If you view it on the catwalk, you'll agree with me that this dress is VERY flowy and rather princessey ;)  If worn like a skirt, you can use this asymmetric (those sort are really in fashion by the way!) square jumper for the more trendy feel and structured proportion :) To add to the structure like Abbey Lee did as well, I’ve added this cardigan-jacket for the rockstarish vibe! This necklace matches the hues and has a bit of detailing to add to the uniqueness of the outfit :) Wear some funky rings and voila- there you are your own Abbey Lee outfit <3

SS11:: Animal Trend

 Let out your inner animal in a style that never fails to liven up your outfit. Whether it's a cute leopard print bag, a zebra look dress or carefully painted nails- those little details can really make a difference. It's such a popular trend though that if you want to stand out and look like you've thought it throught a bit more, why not look for the more unique pieces?  Or vary what you're wearing so it's not just the prints that catch people's eyes. Just an idea for you.

Inspired:: What's on telly? - Ugly Betty

For Christmas I recieved the Ugly Betty boxset and as I only started watching it half way through the second season, I have a bit of catching up to do. The result of this has left me completely fixated to the show (I've kind of gone off on a tangent, though, and begun rewatching the episodes with Matt in because, frankly, I'm in love with him!)

However, this post does have a point. Those who watched the program will know Betty Suarez has had many fashion faux pas (especially as she works for a fashion magazine), so let us celebrate her outrageous yet amusing sense of style with these following pictures I picked out (and for those who do not have a clue what I'm on about, here is how not to dress)

Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers:: Brown vintage low-heeled courts with straps

Through these series, we'll be featuring items such as clothing and accessories that we own and share our thoughts here! We'll mention items that seem eye-catching, unique, worth the money or just things we love <3

Brown vintage low-heeled shoes- Tesco F&F- Sale for £7.50

When i saw this, i knew i had to get either the black or brown ones! Sadly the black one didn't have the price tag on so i settled for the these, which have the super vintage touch to them!

The sophisticated shiny pattern along the edges of the shoes definately caught my eyes- the whole cut out design gives the shoes the feminine edge and the colour palette made the shoes stand out.

For these shoes to be on sale for less than a tenner, you probably think that the quality isn't as good but think again! From my past experience, i know that perhaps the comfort in them isn't 100% but to be fair, they aren't exactly uncomfortable either!

These courts really do give that rather ladylike feeling :)

It's a big world::Time for the turban trend

 Some of you may have heard of this turban look, others may be thinking that the idea is slightly bonkers. But the turban has actually been seen on celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kylie Minogue and Kourtney Kardashian who have pulled this effortlessly.

Personally I felt that maybe this was a trend i had to skipped, but before turning a blind eye, i'd admit i was inspired by some of the looks- including the one above! Promise me you'll read on and rethink about the trend- pretty please?

First things first, i want to get over with the downside of the turban, from my perspective. After flicking through some images, i think those who pulled off this look well had long (and probably wavy) hair. As for me, my hair currently is neither one of them, but that doesn't mean that i could try it when the time comes :) Another is that, they aren't many available in stores. Thirdly. why don't people wear this often?!

From the previous post, we can so tell that perhaps turbans are still going to be around for some time! They can be worn to give a perfect colourful-vintage look, a fabulous hippy vibe and a cool casual touch. <3

Call it an idea <3.

I couldn't find many but this was one I definately preferred over the rest :D I had to keep in mind that with the turban, the outfit wouldn't work as well if it was tooo busy, so i've settled for a more casual look!
Links: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

I paired up the turban with some matching light pink jeans and then to match the pallette, i think that this cream top suits it will- and gives a sort of casual touch to the whole outfit. Not too dressy, and has a rather girly vibe to it! To even this all out, i've put together this blazer, for when you're around and about, and these stunning sandal heels to add a touch of summer <3 ... Additionally, i felt that maybe the outfit was a tad boring so i've added this rather cute bracelet for the shiinee!

SS11:: Colour Me In

Picture this, if you will. It's the beginning of Spring. The grass is greener, the sky is a vibrant blue and the fields are fresh and alive. The daffodils come to life, new born lambs roam the fields and tiny, fragile chicks greet the world from the opening of their partly hatched eggs.

Now keep this image in mind and combine it with the spring/summer '11 collections from Alexandre Herchcovitch, Aquilano Rimondi, Christopher Kane, PPQ and Miu Miu, to name but a few. C'est parfait.

That's right. The new season all about the bright, bold colours which are seemingly fitting for the welcoming warmth that's (hopefully) ahead and saying good riddance to the benumbed months of winter we have experienced.

Inspired:: Flickr Addict Series- No.1

Inspiration can be taken from all sorts of media, really. And I've probably gone for an easier option, but Flickr is definately one of those thought-provoking website, where people can upload, edit, explore or share their images with everyone.To some extent, the images do illustrate a different perspective so I've decided that a fashion interpretation can be expressed vividly. Please note that no credit will be taken for any of the Flickr Images and the links to them will be provided below.

Palace with a Flare

After clicking on Interesting Photos from the last 7 days, this is one of the pictures that caught my eye! The flare used adds more detail to the centre which causes the the sunlgiht to contrast beautifully with the scenery :)

To create a look from the image, I used a dress of a brown hue, with a detailed print to portray the bulidings and the posts. This dress in specfic, has a rather vintage touch to it and the ruffles make the dress seem even ultra-feminine <3 I love how the centre elastic line creates volume and how the skirt-part flares out! Both the necklace and the bracelet work well with the dress and represent the sunlight through eye-catching accessories :) And how original are these flats?! These mocassins are bound to return into fashion and give a lovely boho touch! Though, to create an evening look, I've used these stunning red heels, which sort of express the flare-vibe colour <3 And pair either of these shoes with some black opaque tights for warmth and extra elegance. Additionally, I've mentioned these amazing satchel bag to match with the shoes and for the night out, this blazer would be perfect :)

Moods Of Norway

The gorgeous sunset, the striking colour pallette, the fabulous scenery- what is there not to love about this picture?! The contrast between the deep purple and peachy-yellow is beautiful :D Could almost imagine watching the sun set in front of my eyes...

I was overly excited to use this eyecatching dress :D The angel sleeves give the breezing summery vibe on the beach, and the embellishments work well! To give a more sand-like feeling, these shiny bangles do the job! For a perfect evening out, pair the dress with some heeled gold sandals and pop a bit of antique gold eyeshadow :)
