The spring/summer Chanel Couture collection hit the Paris runway the other day with Diane Kruger, Vanessa Paradis and Alexa Chung accompanying the front row.
This season sees Lagerfeld indulging in a pastel colour selection of lilac, pink and blue and there is a noticeable relaxed feel as the models strut their stuff in flat, black patent shoes.
"This is the way young women dress nowadays," Karl, himself, revealed about the inspirations behind the collection; casual with tshirts, thigh-length dresses and slim trousers.
There was a touch of glamour, however, with the glittering black of said trousers and the loose tops which shimmered in the light- a ray of realisation to how a woman really does dress these days and that couture no longer has to be formal and luxurious.
